Most of what is sold for children is made by a company nobody can name. Little Ones General Store works the other way around: whoever made a thing is named on the page you buy it from.

That comes to 67 products from 25 independent makers, covering clothing, toys, books, hair accessories and decor for children, babies and women.

How something gets stocked

Children's clothing gets worn hard, outgrown fast, and then handed to somebody else. That is the test, and most of what is made for children fails it. The 52 piece wooden alphabet set from Gladfolk is a spelling game one week and a pile of building blocks the next. A knitted ornament from Melange Collection survives eleven months in a storage box better than a glass one does.

The school pennants from Cami Monet are made by hand in the USA, as are the tulle headbands and snap clips from Modern Piggy and the sidewalk chalk from TWEE made for little hands, which comes in shapes rather than sticks. Global Goods Partners works with artisan groups in Nepal. Polished Prints stitches the embroidered tees in Bangladesh, and the rattan doll chair comes from Poppie Toys in Indonesia.

What a listing tells you

Materials, measurements and origin sit on the product page, as far as the maker states them, and where a maker says nothing about a fiber the listing says nothing. The blank is deliberate. A shirt that is not preshrunk says so, and a tee cut cropped or oversized says that too.
