Angel Mouse Ornament

A knitted gray mouse in a white dress with cream wings and a gold halo, 4 inches tall, handmade and fairly traded in Peru by Melange Collection. It stands upright on two feet, so it can hold a shelf or a windowsill as well as a branch.

The halo is a ring of gold yarn set between the ears and reads as a full circle from the back, where the two wings are worked flat and joined at the center. The face is worked in stitches: black eyes, a pink nose, pink inside the ears, and a gray tail left long at the back. The maker's label is sewn into the hem of the dress.

The blend is 35 percent alpaca, 15 percent wool and 50 percent acrylic over a polyester filling. Spot clean only, which is the limit on how much handling it will take.
