CONGRATULATIONS spelled out in hand cut felt letters, 57 inches long by 4 inches wide, strung on a single cord and ready to hang on arrival. Each letter is cut, stitched and felted by hand by artisan women in Nepal, then threaded on in order.
The colors run through pink, orange, blue, yellow and green, the dyes are azo-free, and the whole thing is handmade and fairly traded. Global Goods Partners brings it in from Nepal.
Fifteen letters make this the longer of the two felt garlands the store carries, 57 inches against 48 for the birthday one. It covers a graduation, a new job, a new baby or a first day of school, and it folds flat into a drawer until the next one.
