This hand knitted penguin stands 10 inches tall on two flat black feet, in pale gray with a black head, a gray beak and a red knitted scarf at the neck. The face patches are white, the eyes are stitched, and one end of the scarf is left hanging down the front.
The body is round and widest near the base, with short flippers set into the sides. The outside is 100 percent cotton and the filling is acrylic. Hand wash it and let it air dry. Melange Collection makes it in Peru, handmade and fairly traded.
It is the larger of the two Melange Collection toys the store carries. If you are choosing between them, the penguin is the bigger of the two and the bat is the 8 inch one with a season attached to it.
